Once upon a time we drove by a wonderful building on Rutherford Island that looked like it was about to disintegrate and fall into the water. We fell in love with the building and became obsessed with how it might be restored. Long story short… we bought the building and spent several years restoring it and furnishing it with country antiques, custom furniture and original art. The finished project was later featured in Coastal Living Magazine and HGTV. We hope you will visit us and share our enthusiasm for waterfront living in a small fishing village!
The Bridge House began life in the late 19th century as the town’s Dance Hall. It was built directly on pilings right over South Bristol’s picturesque working harbor. Whether you are inside the building, or outside on the expansive decks, you will feel immersed in the harbor activities – lobster boats coming and going, kayakers paddling through “the gut,” the swing bridge opening and closing, and boaters greeting you as they pass by.
Be sure to browse through our showroom, Bridge House Design, where you’ll find an intriguing collection of new and vintage home and garden furnishings.
